ULTRA SEAL LOW EXPANDING STRAW FOAM
Ultra Seal Straw Foam is a one-part, polymeric insulating foam/sealant that cures to form a rigid seal which will allow for normal movement between building components. Ultra Seal fills and seals gaps, cracks and holes within most types on construction materials to eliminate drafts and provide an R factor of 5.7 for each inch of foam-in-place.
FEATURES AND TYPICAL USES:
Ultra Seal Straw Foam is recommended for: Heating / Air conditioning, plumbing, refrigeration, electrical, drywall, and general construction. Seals out radom, drafts, gases, odours, water, dust, sound, and pests. Ultra Seal Straw Foam is ideal for sealing around wall outlets, sill plates, foundation walls, behind baseboards, windows, and doors. Ultra Seal Straw Foam is a low expanding foam which prevents
bowing of window and doors. Ultra Seal Straw Foam contains no CFC’s and is non-flammable.
SURFACE PREPARATION AND APPLICATION :
Surfaces should be free of dust, oil, grease, frost, and loose debris which may impair bond. Dampness will not impair bond. For maximum yield the temperature of the Ultra Seal Straw Foam container should be 20°C (70°F). Minimum application temperature is 5°C (38°F). Colder temperatures lengthen curing time but will not affect the Ultra Seal Straw Foam properties when fully cured. When applying Ultra Seal Straw Foam follow the instructions on the container. Fill gaps, cracks and holes with the sealant making allowance for post expansion (fill cavities to 30% of volume). Multiple layers may be necessary in large cavities with successive layers being allowed to expand and cure before the next layer is applied. Curing may be accelerated by spray misting the surrounding surface with water prior to application of the foam. Avoid insertion into small tubular sections comprised of non-porous materials, if concerned about bowing of light-weight frames, provide temporary bracing before application of foam. Where adjacent surfaces are to be left exposed, provide a suitable protective masking during installation.
Limitations: Ultra Seal Straw Foam is not recommended for use in the following circumstances:
• Exterior areas continuously exposed to ultra-violet rays, unless suitably protected.
• Long-term immersion in water.
• Long-term exposure to temperatures above 121°C.
• Use as a Class 1 vapour barrier.
• Do not use Ultra Seal Straw Foam where building codes require use of UL classified firestop
systems complying with ULC/CAN4-S115-M85 for sealing building services or fire rated assemblies.
Contents under pressure. Do not place in hot water or near radiators, stoves or other sources of heat. Do not puncture or incinerate container or store at temperatures over 49°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not leave container in a closed area such as a motor vehicle, especially in the summer heat.
First Aid: Non-toxic under normal conditions. Treat as a mild irritant to skin. Flush eyes with water and see a physician. Product contains polymeric diisocyanate.
Ultra Seal Straw Foam meets ASTM-C-557 and Underwriters Laboratories Inc. Caulking and Sealants applied to inorganic reinforced cement boards + Flame spread 15, Smoke Developed 20.

Type: Crosslinking single component polyurethane foam.
Moisture cured: Non-solvent based
Appearance: Homogeneous cell structure. Cream colour
Flammability: Contains flame retardant. This classifies the cured foam as
“self-extinguishing”. Although the foam is “combustible”,
meaning it will burn, in a fire situation the foam will self
extinguish in the absence of an open flame.

Ultra Seal Low Expanding Foam is specifically designed as a low expanding product.
It’s perfect for use around windows and doors.
It will not ‘post-expand’ and create pressure that will bow windows and doors.
Note: Always ensure that you fill holes, gaps and cracks only 50%, to leave room for expansion.
